American Kwamain Mitchell (178-PG-89) had a very impressive game in the last round for Usti n/Labem and that’s him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 10.
The 24-year old playmaker had the game-high 26 points adding six rebounds and seven assists for Usti n/Labem in his team’s victory, helping them to beat J.Hradec (#9, 3-7) 100-90. Usti n/Labem is placed at 6th position in Czech Republic NBL. Usti n/Labem is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 5-5 record. In the team’s last game Mitchell had a remarkable 61.5% from 2-point range. He turned to be Usti n/Labem’s top player in his first season with the team. Saint Louis University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Mitchell is in league’s top in points (2nd best: 18.9ppg), assists (5th best: 4.5apg) and averages solid 3.1spg.The second most remarkable performance in last round’s games was 30-year old forward Pavel Novak (199-F-83) of J.Hradec. Novak impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 22 points and 13 rebounds. Bad luck as J.Hradec lost that game 90-100 to the higher-ranked Usti n/Labem (#6, 5-5). J.Hradec is still in a red zone at 9th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league’s best with a mere 3-7 record. Novak is a newcomer at J.Hradec and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often. The third best performed player last round was former international forward Jakub Houska (207-PF-82) of second-ranked BK Decin. Houska scored 22 points and grabbed ten rebounds. Despite Houska’s great performance BK Decin lost 78-79 to the lower-ranked USK Praha (#8, 4-5). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing BK Decin needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 6 victories and 3 lost games. Houska has a very solid season. In 3 games in Czech Republic he scored 14.3ppg.Other top performing players last week:
